FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

My course isn't working properly in Chrome

Make sure you check your settings in Chrome – Go to Settings/Content/Flash then turn OFF the ‘Ask First’ button. This should fix the problem. If you continue to have problems, please e-mail us at help@ALLIANCELearning.ca.

How much time do I have to complete a Course?

There is no time limit. This is a self-paced learning program which you can complete according to your own schedule and the time that you have available to invest in your personal development.

Can I stop a Course mid-way and start again?

Yes you can. When you log back into Alliance Learning, go to MY DASHBOARD and you will be able to pick up where you left off.

Where do I find the list of Courses?

Log into Alliance Learning and then go to LEARNING PROGRAM to browse all of the Courses and Certificates that are available to you.

What do I do if I have completed the course but I am not getting the badge or earned credit?

A course needs to be fully completed in order to be awarded a badge.  Ensure that each page, as well as the assessment, has been read/completed. Completion of each course is based on whether all the screens in the course, including the final assessment, have been opened– that you have seen all the content in the course. If your badge is not showing up, first ensure that you have opened and read each screen of the course in addition to successfully completing the assessment at the end.

Once all the screens in a course have been viewed, and you have successfully completed the course, close out of the course page, click ‘Exit activity’ and your badge should show up.

What is the difference between a Badge and a Certificate?

Every time you complete a Course, you are awarded a Badge. To receive a Certificate you must complete the number of required Courses assigned to that certificate. Visit the LEARNING PROGRAM area for a description of all of the choices that are available to you.

Where can I see the number of Courses that I have completed?

Go to MY DASHBOARD and the courses you have completed will be listed on that page, along with the Badges that you have been awarded for each.

Can I access these courses on my iPAD?

Yes you can! Courses have been developed so that you can complete them on a desktop, laptop, iPhone, iPad or Android device.

Is there a preferred browser that I should use to complete these courses?

Courses should work well on all browsers, however, it has been reported that the browser CHROME seems to work best.

Who do I contact if I am having problems registering for a course?
